Modern medicine has extended our lifespans, but these additional twilight years may bring with them bone ailments such as fractures, tumours and other type of diseases. Project BIOSA, which is funded by Fusion, the R&I Programme administered by MCST, aimed to develop metal-based tailor-made bone scaffolds that degrade and allow the patient’s own bone to regrow thus eliminating the need of bone grafts that could be a potentially painful process.
A Public Engagement Event will be held at Esplora Interactive Science Centre on Tuesday 19th July, 2022. Registration starts at 1.00 pm.
