Biodegradable plastics - How do we engage with consumers and society? - Discuss with experts in a free webinar - 21 May 2021 - 14:00 CET

Friday, May 21, 2021

Plastic pollution has become a pressing issue around the world, threatening the environment, animal and human health. The public is aware of this threat, but often left insecure and confused about the correct way to dispose of plastic items after their use. What role do biodegradable plastics play in this scenario? How are they perceived, understood and used by consumers and other sectors of society? How can the appropriate use be better promoted and consumer behaviour be changed effectively?

This event will review the latest scientific evidence on the biodegradability of plastics from SAPEA, the consortium of European academies, and discuss the policy recommendations made by the European Commission’s independent Group of Chief Scientific Advisors. The interactive webinar will facilitate open discussions between an expert panel and a live international audience.

Join the free interactive webinar on 21 May 2021 at 14:00 CET and discuss with experts ways on how to engage with consumers and society to make better use of biodegradable plastics!
