Call for tender: Expert

Summary of the service required:

The Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions of Europe (CPMR) – through its Intermediterranean Commission (IMC), is looking for an experienced entity/expert specialised in Sustainable Tourism to support the team with the main capitalisation activities planned, in particular the fine-tuning of the BEST MED Sustainable Path and Cultural Routes Model (MED S&C Path) (Deliverable 6.3.1 in the AF) and other related activities.

The profile of the applicants must comply with the following criteria:

  • Expertise in and thorough experience related to sustainable (and cultural) tourism.
  • Expertise in tourism management and decision-making.
  • Knowledge of the characteristics of tourism and its key actors in the Mediterranean area.
  • Understanding of the latest research and policy developments of sustainable tourism at European and Mediterranean levels.
  • Relevant project references, including experience in drafting similar documents.
  • Fluency in English and proven technical writing and communication skills.


Main tasks to be performed:

  • Drafting the final version of the BEST MED S&C Path Model (D6.3.1) building on the work carried out in previous WPs
  • Participation in and presentation of the model in a technical workshop and an international political workshop
  • Drafting the content of the Granada Charter (D6.4.2), that should include clear and simple policy messages for joint transnational actions and a common vision for tourism
  • Support and participation in the Final Capitalisation Conference (D6.4.1), involving high-level policy representatives, local and regional policy makers, experts’ community, to present the MED S&C Path Model


Outputs of this assignment

  • Final version of the BEST MED Sustainable Path and Cultural Routes Model (MED S&C Path)
  • Final version of the Granada Charter including policy messages
  • Final Conference Report


The contract is expected to start in June 2021 and terminate in June 2022.
