INTERNATIONALISATION PARTNERSHIP AWARDS SCHEME PLUS 2021 (IPAS+) CALL 1

Source of Funding:

The Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST) is receiving proposals under the Internationalisation Partnership Awards Scheme Plus (IPAS+). The Scheme is divided into two options. Applicants are to fill in the appropriate sections of the form; they may select either Option A or Option B, or both:

Option A: opportunities for collaborative initiatives between Maltese entities and at least one foreign entity of proven track record of excellence. Proposals should describe the nature of the joint activities that would be funded through the Award. Applicants are to demonstrate how the proposed activities contribute towards and align with achieving the goals of the National R&I Strategy, and to describe the potential of any activities to become self-sustaining or generate longer-term outcomes.

Option B: opportunities for Maltese entities intending to submit a Horizon Europe proposal as the coordinator of the consortium to engage a service provider (local or foreign) who will be supporting the applicant through proposal writing and submission

PRIMA Proposal Writing Assistance Scheme 2021 - SECTION 2

Source of Funding:

Applicants who will coordinate a project addressing a Section 1 or Section 2 topic featured in the PRIMA Annual Work Plan 2021 have the opportunity of engaging a service provider who can support them through the pre- / full proposal writing and/or submission stages.

The documentation associated with this scheme can be accessed through the following links:

Applicants that deem their application as having no State Aid implications are requested to contact the Council on prima.mcst@gov.mt.

Interested applicants are encouraged to seek more information by contacting MCST on prima.mcst@gov.mt well before the submission deadline for guidance on the procedure entailed. To be eligible, a signed letter of intent must be issued by the Council before engaging the service provider and before starting to write the project pre/full proposal.

The PRIMA Proposal Writing Assistance Scheme is part of the PRIMA Programme supported by the European Union.

PRIMA Calls 2021

Source of Funding:

PRIMAPartnership for R&I in the Mediterranean – facilitates collaborative R&I in the areas of Water Management, Farming Systems and Agro-Food Chains. PRIMA operates under two main lines of funding – Section 1 and Section 2. Section 1 Calls are funded directly by the European Commission whilst Section 2 Calls are funded directly by the countries participating in PRIMA.

Project proposals address the following topics under Section 2 are eligible for funding:

Thematic Area 1: Water Management

  • Topic 2.1.1 (RIA) Alleviating Mediterranean water scarcity through adaptive water governance.

Thematic Area 2: Farming System

  • Topic 2.2.1 (RIA) Up-scaling field practices based on agroecology principles to increase ecosystem services and biodiversity, to adapt the small farming systems to climate change and to increase farmers’ incomes

Thematic Area 3: Agro-food Value Chain

  • Topic 2.3.1 Increasing the resilience of small-scale farms to global challenges and COVID-like crisis by using adapted technologies, smart agri-food supply chain and crisis management tools.

Entities residing in Malta are eligible for funding under the Section 2 calls, with the option of requesting up to 500,000 euros to participate in a PRIMA proposal consortium (N.B. if more than one National partner is present in one consortium, the total amount of funding for the participating National partners cannot exceed the 500,000 euros capping).
