PRIMA launches the “Woman Greening Food Systems Award” in the Mediterranean

On the occation of Woman's Day, Prima celebrated women's achievements, their challenges, their vision, and their crucial role in societies. This year, amidst conflicts, climate change, and polarizing societies undermining decades of progress in gender equality, International Women’s Day calls for “Investing in Women: Accelerating Progress” to achieve gender equality.

PRIMA seizes the opportune moment to unveil its latest initiative, funded by the EU: the “Woman Greening Food Systems in the Mediterranean” award, underscoring the indispensable role of women in cultivating sustainable food systems.

This new initiative aims at recognizing and celebrating the actions of women in advancing sustainable and resilient food systems. The newly introduced “PRIMA Woman Greening Food Systems Award in the Mediterranean Region” seeks to recognize the contributions of women who have been at the forefront of driving positive change within the food and agriculture sector across the Mediterranean.

This new award will shine a spotlight on two women who have demonstrated leadership, innovation, and impact in promoting sustainability and resilience in food systems throughout the Mediterranean Region.

With a cash prize of €10,000 for each of the two winners, the award aims to not only acknowledge their accomplishments but also to provide them with a platform to share their experiences and insights with a wider audience.
