The Summer School of Science (S3) is an international summer camp designed for motivated high school students interested in STEM careers. Recognized by the academic community as one of the leading science camps worldwide, S3 enjoys the official support of two Nobel Prize winners and endorsements from researchers affiliated with prestigious institutions such as Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard, ETH Zurich, and many others. You can find their letters of recommendation in the attached document.
As the School's supervisor, I draw on my academic background — a Natural Sciences degree from the University of Cambridge and a doctorate in Physics from ETH Zurich, where I currently work — to foster strong connections with the global scientific community. Each year, we invite a diverse group of international scientists to Croatia to mentor and work alongside our students.
This year's projects will range from ethical questions surrounding artificial intelligence to using bacteria for eco-friendly production of medically significant compounds or addressing climate change, among others. The projects will be led by researchers from top-tier institutions including ETH Zurich, TU Delft, Bielefeld University, and the University of Zagreb. Participating students gain hands-on research experience while developing valuable skills in communication, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry — all of which are excellent preparation for future university studies.
You can read more about this year's projects.
The Summer School will be held entirely in English from July 20th to July 31st, 2025. If you would be willing to share the attached poster with your contacts or students, we would be very grateful for your support.
