Xjenza Malta as the BlueMissionMed Malta National HUB is organising a workshop “Mind The Gap – Identifying needs and providing solutions to prevent and eliminate pollution ending in our Waters and Mediterranean Sea”, in collaboration with Environment and Resources Authority, The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Enterprise and RHE-MEDiation project on Monday, 19 May 2025 at The Planetarium Hall, Villa Bighi, Kalkara.

BlueMissionMed project’s strategic objective is to restore the health of our oceans and waters by 2030 by specifically preventing and eliminating pollution from our seas and making the blue economy carbon-neutral and circular.

The workshop will bring together regulator, public entities, and operators within the wastewater treatment and waste sector, academia and the business community to:

• Frame the national needs, gaps and opportunities in securing environmental targets and objectives.
• Showcase a transformative innovative solution which is a novel methodology that can contribute to transformational change towards achievement of the objectives of the EU Mission to Restore our Oceans and Waters and facilitate the obligations of the business community in mitigating its responsibility as per the Polluters Pay Principle.

The event is inspired by the EU Mission “Restore our Oceans and Waters” that aims to protect and restore the health of our ocean and waters through research and innovation, blue investments and citizen engagement.
