LAUDS Factories invites artists/creative people and technology providers to submit proposals for Experiments aimed at exploring and working with LAUDS factories to enhance their usability and uptake, while answering to pressing challenges in the mobility, energy and agriculture/food production sectors. The project has 240.000 EUR to provide support to at least 6 Experiments that will be collaborating with LAUDS Factories in activities such as conceiving novel uses of technologies that help push for green solutions, and/or exploring alternative design methods using artistic practices creating new industrial models connecting potential manufacturers partners, creatives and end-users. These activities should provide answers to proposed challenges by the three LAUDS Factories with which the selected hybrid teams are to cooperate.
The main objective is for hybrid teams to explore and work with LAUDS factories to enhance their usability and uptake, aligned with the wider scope, challenges and specific applicable conditions.

The Africa-Europe Foundation is pleased to announce a Call for Proposals to establish a multiannual research partnership from July 2024 to December 2025.
This Call for Proposals is underpinned by the “State of Africa-Europe Report 2024”, produced by the Africa-Europe Foundation and providing a unique benchmarking exercise on the implementation of the Africa-Europe Partnership, including review of the existing policy/financial commitments of the political partnership between the African Union and the European Union.
This Call invites research organisations to deep dive into 3 priority chapters from the ‘State of Africa-Europe Report 2024’, specifically the chapters on:
• Sustainable Finance;
• Climate and Development;
• Science, Education, and Culture.
The Call will serve to establish an “Africa-Europe Research Consortium”, consisting of research organisations from Africa and Europe, including think tanks, research institutes, universities as well as CSOs/NGOs and social enterprises with proven track record in research and policy.

The Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST) is receiving proposals under the Research Networking Scheme (RNS). The Scheme consists of two components, the Networking Scheme and the Open Access Journal Support . Applicants are to fill in the appropriate sections of the form; they may select one of the components or both:
Networking Scheme: opportunities for collaborative initiatives between Maltese entities and at least one foreign entity of proven track record of excellence. Proposals should describe the nature of the joint activities that would be funded through the Award. Applicants are to demonstrate how the proposed activities contribute towards and align with achieving the goals of the National R&I Strategy, and to describe the potential of any activities to become self-sustaining or generate longer-term outcomes. The amount of the Award under the Networking Scheme is up to €8,000.
Open Access Journal Support: this new opportunity will support researchers who have already benefited from MCST research grants to publish their research done on a peer reviewed open access journal. The amount of the Award under the Open Access Journal Support is up to €4,000.
All projects are evaluated by a selection panel set up by MCST on the basis of evaluation criteria outlined in the Call text. Interested Applicants are to submit their application form electronically to networking.mcst@gov.mt keeping in copy Mr. Robert Cauchi at robert.cauchi@gov.mt with “RNS – Application 2024” as subject heading. The deadline for submission is Friday 21st June 2024 at 11.30pm. The application must be dated and signed by the applicant and the legal representative. The heart of the DRG4Food project beats for responsible data-driven solutions that empower people, champion data rights, and drive the creation of sustainable food systems. Our focus is on catalyzing data-driven innovation in the food industry, all while staying aligned with Digital Responsibility Goals and principles.
The open call welcomes multidisciplinary consortia of 2-3 entities, including startups, SMEs, research organizations, universities, technology adopters, and users in the food sector, particularly NGOs and consumer associations. Each consortium must consist of 2 to 3 partners from at least two different countries, with one partner required to be from an EU member state. Consortia are expected to demonstrate the ability to develop data-driven solutions that align with Digital Responsibility Goals and actively involve end-users in defining technical requirements and enhancing pilot project activities. COROB aims to develop a flexible, cooperative and intelligent multi-robotic solution for arc welding-based manufacturing processes (joining and additive manufacturing), to offer new operational capabilities that allow to increase the efficiency and improve the flexibility of industrial processes.
The purpose of the Open Call is to integrate and test innovative solutions within the COROB project’s framework. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency and flexibility of arc welding-based manufacturing processes by employing a cooperative multi-robot system powered by Inspection, Monitoring, Control, and AI techniques.
