Call for Applications for the EIT Food Government Executive Academy

EIT Food has launched a call for applications for its prestigious training programme of EIT Food Government Executive Academy aimed at public sector professionals involved in programming of EU structural funds, Smart Specialisation Strategies and innovation policies on national or regional levels.

 

The Academy offers up-to-date knowledge about innovation policies for agri-food sector, international networking opportunities and opportunities to learn from leading experts from science and industry. You can access more information on the Academy by visiting its website.

 

Successful applicants will receive financial support to cover travel and accommodation. Applications can be submitted on the dedicated platform, here, and are open until 20 March 2020.

EIT Digital Summer Schools: Apply Now!

Real business case studies

The two-week EIT Digital Academy Summer Schools combine state-of-the-art excellence in key digital technologies with expertise in innovation and entrepreneurship (I&E). Attendees immerse themselves in real business case studies originating from within EIT Digital's pan-European ecosystem of scale-ups, industrial and academic partners and research companies.

Deep dive into emerging technologies

The Summer Schools are open to researchers, industry professionals, master and PhD students and others who want to deep dive into emerging technologies and learn how to apply them in business situations. The Summer School is a mandatory part in the EIT Digital Master School. This means that you will work with the brightest engineering minds in Europe.

Each Summer School is themed around one of the five areas in which EIT Digital sees major societal and industrial challenges as well as opportunities for Europe to take a leadership position in the global digital economy. These areas are: Digital Industry, Digital Cities, Digital Wellbeing, Digital Tech, and Digital Finance.

Besides the educational journey, 16 Summer Schools also offer an opportunity to visit foreign cities as they are held in eleven locations across Europe: Lisbon, Eindhoven, Stockholm, Budapest, Rennes, Tallinn, Trento, Ljubljana, Munich, Bologna and Helsinki.

The deadline for applications is 15 May 2020. The first school opens on 30 June and the last one finishes on 17 August.

IF2MT - Individual Fellowship Training Scheme for Incoming Postdocs to Malta

Details:

The Scheme supports travel and accommodation expenses for experienced researchers willing to submit a proposal with Maltese entity host (Beneficiary) for the MSCA Individual Fellowship call with deadline the 9th September 2020 (MSCA-IF-2020). The support will be in the form of a lump sum grant and it is for the participation of the researchers in the one-day MSCA Individual Fellowship training that will be held on 24th April 2020 in Malta. All experienced researchers, from any nationality and any age, that meet the eligibility and mobility conditions, may apply through this scheme.

Applicants may submit the requested documents any time as from 11th February 2020 until noon on 31st March 2020. Applications will be processed on first come first served basis, until funds are exhausted.

Calls for expression of interest for PhD positions

EU Prize for Women Innovators 2020

Women are underrepresented in terms of creating innovative enterprises. This is an untapped potential for Europe, which needs to optimise all available resources to remain competitive and find solutions to our societal challenges.
 
This award scheme recognises the role of women in bringing about game-changing innovations to market honouring the outstanding achievements of women running innovative companies. The "EU Prize for Women Innovators" will be awarded to up to four women innovators in total (including one young woman innovator, so-called 'rising innovator') who have created the largest impact on the innovation ecosystem by transforming ideas into new and advanced products and/or services for the benefit and wealth of the European citizens.
 
Three prizes of EUR 100,000 each and one prize of EUR 50,000 in the 'rising innovator' category will be awarded

THE CIHEAM PROVIDES GRANTS FOR FIELD RESEARCH

ELIMINATE HUNGER AND REDUCE RURAL POVERTY

From 16 December 2019 to 29 February 2020, the CIHEAM is opening a call for contribution for its "Field Research Initiative" (FRI) project.

The FRI supports PhD students and young researchers to apply, broaden and disseminate the results of their research, contributing to:

  • eradicate hunger and malnutrition,
  • enhance the sustainability and resilience of agriculture,
  • improve water use and livelihoods,
  • reduce rural poverty
  • support the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),

while reducing the negative effects of migratory pressures in the region.

The CIHEAM invites PhD students and young researchers to conduct short-term field research related to food and nutrition security, sustainable agriculture and rural development, climate change mitigation and plant health in order to enhance practical skills.

This Field Research Initiative (FRI) will give successful applicants the opportunity to engage with community-based local and rural organisations like producer organisations, cooperatives or small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as with specialised laboratories and centres of excellence.

The purpose of the FRI is to strengthen interactions between young scientists, rural communities and local organisations, promote knowledge exchanges, empower youth with practical skills, share good practices and innovative tools for sustainable agriculture and rural poverty reduction, and foster networks and employment opportunities for young researchers and PhD students across the Mediterranean region, also through South-South Cooperation.

A special focus will be made for the International Year of Plant Health (IYPH).  3 out of the 10 grants will be awarded to proposals providing innovative/sustainable solutions to pests/diseases of primary importance for the Mediterranean and African regions.

The first ten proposals will be broadcasted (poster/videos) during the final event of the IYPH celebrations in the key event of Helsinki 2020 for global visibility

Advanced Master in Sustainable Blue Growth
